Speech-Language Therapy

 

 

 

Speech-language therapists are qualified to diagnose and treat communication difficulties.

At The Learning Umbrella, we provide assessments and intervention for children aged 1-17 years with a wide range of communication disorders.

A child should be referred to a speech-language therapist if he/she shows the following difficulties:

  • Difficulty following instructions;

  • Making himself/herself understood;

  • Unclear speech / mispronunciation;

  • Lisping;

  • Stammering;

  • Difficulty formulating sentences;

  • Muddling up words/syllables/sounds while talking.

  • Communication difficulties ensuing from hearing disorders;

  • Difficulties with written language (for e.g. writing compositions);

  • Difficulties with reading comprehension.
