Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-language therapists are qualified to diagnose and treat communication difficulties.
At The Learning Umbrella, we provide assessments and intervention for children aged 1-17 years with a wide range of communication disorders.
A child should be referred to a speech-language therapist if he/she shows the following difficulties:

Difficulty following instructions;

Making himself/herself understood;

Unclear speech / mispronunciation;

Lisping;

Stammering;

Difficulty formulating sentences;

Muddling up words/syllables/sounds while talking.

Communication difficulties ensuing from hearing disorders;

Difficulties with written language (for e.g. writing compositions);

Difficulties with reading comprehension.
